“If you see different behaviors, one thing you could know is, there might be some different internal functionings happening and it is not a parent’s fault. So don’t give them the evil eye. Don’t look at them and stair at them and think “Hey, aren’t you gonna do something?”, ‘cause this is their life, and their doing everything they absolutely totally possibly can in every moment to help their child thrive."
This is part of a truly authentic conversation between an autism mom, an autistic comedian, and me, an autism specialist, as we explore how neighbours, friends, and the general public can take action to make communities more inclusive.
For this week’s AIM audiocast, I’m excited to share with you a special feature-length episode of a Livestream panel discussion that was created as part of the ThriveGuide Autism Awareness Month Campaign that focused on educating every day citizens about what actions they can take to support autistic individuals to have a better day. We called it our More Best Days for Autism campaign.
Now, let me take you to the beginning where I introduce these amazing guest speakers… I'd get a pen ready to write down the many profound insights you’re about to hear.
